Low-end Disruption

Low-end disruption occurs when innovators offer a product or service that satisifes the least-demanding customers at a lower price and with greater convenience than alternatives offered by industry incumbants. In doing so, the innovators position themselves to gradually improve their products over time, eventually reaching more demanding and profitable customers. Low-end disruption is made possible when incumbant companies deliver products and services that out-perform the needs of a significant portion of their customers.
